JHS Featured Programs

Science Technology & Engineering (STE)

The Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) program at Sorsogon National High School is a specialized curriculum designed for learners with high aptitude in the sciences and mathematics. It serves as a training ground for the next generation of Filipino scientists, engineers, and innovators.

Special Program in the Arts (SPA)

This program transforms the school into a vibrant cultural hub where creativity meets academic rigor, ensuring that the rich heritage of Sorsogon is preserved and innovated by the next generation of artists.

Special Program in Journalism (SPJ)

A specialized track designed for students with a keen interest in news writing, broadcasting, and the ethical practice of media. This program aims to produce the next generation of critical thinkers, eloquent communicators, and truth-seekers in the digital age.

Special Program in Sports (SPS)

A curriculum offered in public secondary schools in the Philippines designed for students with exceptional athletic potential. It aims to develop athletes for high-level competitions while ensuring they remain academically competent.

SHS Featured Tracks

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

The STEM strand is designed for students aiming for careers in medicine, engineering, pure sciences, and architecture. It emphasizes critical thinking and innovation through an advanced curriculum in Calculus, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM)

The ABM strand focuses on the basic concepts of financial management, business operation, and accounting. It is perfect for students who have an analytical mind for numbers and a passion for leadership in the global marketplace.

Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS)

The HUMSS strand is for those curious about the human condition, society, and culture. It sharpens students' skills in writing, public speaking, and critical analysis of social issues, preparing them to lead and serve the community.

General Academic Strand (GAS)

GAS is the most flexible strand, designed for students who are still exploring their career options or those who want a balanced mix of subjects from different tracks. It provides a solid foundation across various disciplines.

Arts and Design (A&D)

A specialized program for Senior High School students who are passionate about pursuing careers in the creative industries. Unlike the SPA (Special Program in the Arts) in Junior High, which focuses on exploration, the SHS A&D track is designed to refine skills for professional application or higher education in the arts.

Technical, Vocational and Livelihood Track (TVL)

Designed for students who want to develop practical, "job-ready" skills. The biggest advantage of this track is that students can earn National Certificates (NC) from TESDA, which are recognized both in the Philippines and abroad for immediate employment.
